First Bank Building Don Fall for Umuahia – NEMA and Police Don Take Over Scene

Serious tension burst out for Umuahia, Abia State capital, after part of First Bank building suddenly collapse on Wednesday afternoon. Eyewitness talk say the incident happen without any warning, and plenty people wey dey nearby run helter-skelter as dust and debris fill the air.

According to report, some staff and customers wey dey inside the bank manage escape before the building fall completely. But few people still dey missing as rescue team rush enter the scene to search for survivors.

The collapse cause heavy traffic and panic across the area, as traders and residents begin fear say other nearby structures fit also collapse.

Government and Rescue Team Don Rush Enter Action

Abia State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) don confirm the incident and send rescue team go the site. Dem say the operation still dey ongoing to make sure nobody remain trapped under the rubbles.

Officials from the state Ministry of Works and NEMA also don show face to inspect the damage and investigate wetin cause the sudden collapse.

According to early findings, engineers suspect say poor maintenance or weak structural foundation fit be the reason behind the collapse.

First Bank React, Promise Full Investigation

First Bank management don release short statement wey confirm the incident. Dem talk say dem go cooperate fully with authorities to find out wetin really cause the collapse and make sure victims get quick medical attention.

The bank also assure customers say their funds and data dey safe, as operations go move temporarily to another branch for the meantime.

Community leaders for Umuahia don beg government to check other old buildings for the area to avoid another disaster like this.
