Duke Enters 2027 Race With ‘Leadership Vision’ — And Apparently Nigeria Has Been Waiting for the Missing Manual

Donald Duke, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, says he is seeking Nigeria’s highest office because the country desperately needs a new kind of leadership capable of tackling its economic, political and security challenges. In a statement that may leave Nigerians wondering whether the presidency comes with a long-lost instruction manual, Duke argued that successive governments since the return to democratic rule in 1979 have produced programmes and policies but failed to provide the “leadership vision” required to transform the country.

He welcomed student loans as an idea but warned that repayment would become difficult without enough jobs for beneficiaries. Duke also called for better coordination between monetary and fiscal policies, arguing that government spending and revenue generation must be better aligned to create wealth and improve living standards.
