Abdullahi Ganduje, former APC National Chairman has raised fresh concerns over the alarming increase in the number of beggars across Northern Nigeria, describing the trend as a growing humanitarian and socio-economic crisis. Speaking at a public engagement, he stressed that the visibility of large numbers of beggars on the streets reflects deeper structural issues that have been ignored for too long.

Former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje explained that the situation is particularly evident in major cities, where vulnerable individuals—including women, children, and the elderly—are increasingly turning to street begging for survival. He noted that this development not only highlights economic hardship but also exposes gaps in social protection systems within the region.

Reinforcing his position, Former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje warned that failure to urgently address the problem could lead to wider social instability. He emphasized that the growing dependence on begging risks entrenching poverty and could contribute to other societal challenges if left unchecked.
