Edo Court Jail Ekpoma Protest Youths: Court Send Demonstrators Go Prison as Gbas Gbos Turn Serious

Edo Court Wahala burst for Edo State as High Court, Criminal Court 2, no waste time at all before e order make some Ekpoma youths cool their heels for prison. Court talk say make dem carry the arrested protesters go Ubiaja Correctional Centre for 14 days, pending further hearing.

As police dey bundle dem enter waiting vehicle, relatives no fit hold body again — na tears, shouting and “God abeg” full everywhere. The scene show say the matter no be small play, as protest wey start like normal shouting don turn full courtroom drama.

From Peaceful Shout to Edo Court Full Gbas Gbos

The protest happen last weekend for Ekpoma, where youths come out vex dey demand government action over rising kidnappings and general insecurity for Esan West Local Government Area. People don tire for “one chance” and night fear, so dem say make dem shout small.

But as usual, Nigeria no dey ever dull. One viral video show residents marching, while some people wey dem believe say na cattle breeders sharply disappear from market like say fire dey chase dem. Police later talk say the peaceful protest later get hijack, come turn vandlism and loting.

Worse still, one military personnel allegedly fire shot hit one protester, 32-year-old Osagie Abraham. The Edo CP, Monday Agbonika, even go hospital go see am, as the man dey receive treatment. Authorities don identify the soldier involved and promise say discipline go follow.

Edo Court Wahala: Government Talk Tough, Promise Security Upgrade

Police and government don quickly assure Edo people say investigation dey go on well-well, and everybody wey get hand for the wahala go face law. Police still remind people say protest na your right, but e must be peaceful — no breaking shop, no burning thing, no endanger life.

Governor Monday Okpebholo and Edo State government also come out talk say dem no dey sleep for this insecurity matter. Dem promise say security operations don intensify to fight kidnappings, cultism and other crimes wey dey disturb peace for the state.

Dem still beg citizens make dem cooperate with security agencies, drop correct information and stop hiding criminals. As dem talk am, security na everybody business — because when gbas gbos start, e no dey ask who vote who.
