African Democratic Congress has been chosen as the sole political platform for the coalition of opposition leaders after a strategic meeting in Abuja on Thursday. The decision ended months of speculation about the registration of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), which has now been abandoned.
African Democratic Congress, through its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, explained that leaders unanimously agreed to adopt the party as their collective vehicle for political engagement. Abdullahi noted that this move reflects a desire for unity and strength ahead of future electoral contests.
African Democratic Congress was represented at the meeting by prominent figures, including National Chairman David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

The party maintained that unity under one structure will provide the credibility needed to challenge the ruling establishment.
African Democratic Congress emphasized that “everything concerning the ADA has been rested,” stressing that attention would now focus on building the ADC into a formidable platform. Party leaders urged members to put aside individual affiliations for the greater good of the coalition.
ADC also confirmed that all presidential aspirants within the coalition have agreed to respect the outcome of the primaries. Abdullahi described this as a significant step toward internal democracy and collective discipline among party leaders.
