Barrister Darlington Accuses FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of Poor Lifestyle Choices: Being a Drunkard, Garrulous and Flippant

Barrister Darlington has knocked down Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accusing him of living a lifestyle unworthy of a public leader. He alleged that Wike begins drinking as early as 11 a.m. daily, claiming this has damaged his image and diminished his capacity to serve effectively.

Darlington further mocked Wike’s appearance, saying he looks much older than his age of 58 and described him as “garrulous and flippant.” He argued that Nigerians deserve a leader who demonstrates self-discipline and dignity, not one whose habits invite ridicule.

Barrister Darlington Raises Concerns on Leadership Standards

Barrister Darlington stressed that the lifestyle of public officials should not be dismissed as a private matter since their conduct directly affects governance. He noted that Wike’s behavior undermines the confidence Nigerians should have in their leaders, especially when such leaders are entrusted with managing sensitive positions like the FCT.

highlighted that this is not the first time Wike has faced controversy. He pointed to the Minister’s history of public disputes, both during his tenure as governor of Rivers State and in his current office, as evidence of a pattern that weakens the credibility of his leadership.

Barrister Darlington Warns of Political Implications

Barrister Darlington warned that Nigerians may lose trust in Wike if the allegations remain unchallenged. He maintained that leadership is not only about policies but also about moral and ethical conduct that inspires public confidence.

Darlington insisted that his criticism should not be seen as a political attack but rather as a call for accountability. He argued that leaders must recognize the close link between private choices and public responsibility, reminding Nigerians that credibility is as important as competence in leadership.
