Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has strongly condemned the recent attack on members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the incident as an unfortunate escalation of internal party disagreements. In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the governor expressed sympathy for those affected and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and order across the state.
He cautioned against attempts to exploit Edo State’s peaceful environment for political violence, stressing that such actions threaten the state’s long-standing reputation as one of Nigeria’s most stable regions.
