FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Praises Tinubu Over Peaceful FCT Area Council Elections

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has praised the peaceful conduct of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, describing the exercise as a clear sign of Nigerians’ growing confidence in democracy. Speaking shortly after the conclusion of the polls, Nyesom Wike emphasized that the orderly process reflects political maturity and institutional stability in Abuja.

According to Nyesom Wike, the successful management of the FCT elections demonstrates that democratic structures in the capital are becoming stronger and more reliable. He noted that voters turned out peacefully, cast their ballots without fear, and allowed the process to unfold without widespread disruption. For Wike, the calm atmosphere throughout the exercise is proof that democracy in the FCT is evolving positively.

Wike further stated that peaceful elections remain fundamental to good governance and national stability. He commended residents of the FCT for conducting themselves responsibly, stressing that credible elections are the foundation for sustainable development and effective leadership.

Nyesom Wike Says FCT Election Results Reveal True Political Strength

In his reaction to the election outcome, Nyesom Wike declared that the FCT Area Council results clearly distinguished the ruling party from what he described as the “real opposition.” Nyesom Wike maintained that electoral victories reflect genuine grassroots support rather than campaign rhetoric or media projections.

Nyesom Wike also criticized deceptive campaign tactics allegedly adopted by some political actors, noting that misleading strategies cannot substitute for authentic engagement with voters. He argued that the ballot remains the ultimate judge of political credibility, and that the FCT elections once again proved that the people’s voice is decisive.

Congratulating all candidates who participated in the FCT elections, Wike praised the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their victories in various councils. Nyesom Wike said the competitive yet peaceful nature of the contest reflects democratic progress in the nation’s capital.

Nyesom Wike Commends INEC, Security Agencies, Reaffirms Renewed Hope Commitment

Wike reserved special commendation for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for organizing what he described as a free, fair, and transparent FCT Area Council election. Wike acknowledged the commission’s logistical coordination and timely distribution of materials as critical to the credibility of the process.

In addition, Wike praised security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the election period. He stated that their visible presence across polling units and collation centers helped prevent electoral malpractice and ensured public confidence in the integrity of the vote.

Reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, Wike assured residents that the peaceful FCT elections mark another step toward responsive governance and delivery of democratic dividends. According to Wike, the administration remains focused on infrastructural development, institutional reforms, and inclusive growth in the Federal Capital Territory.
