Former Minister Isa Ali Pantami has publicly clarified that he never described politics as haram, firmly rejecting claims that he considers political participation forbidden.Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Isa Ali Pantami explained that his involvement in politics is rooted in a commitment to good governance and national development.
Isa Ali Pantami stated that his intention has always been to serve the Nigerian people through lawful and constitutional means.

Isa Ali Pantami Confirms APC Membership Since 2019
Isa Ali also confirmed that he has been a registered member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2019. He clarified that his membership was neither recent nor concealed, but consistent with the constitutional requirements for ministerial appointments in Nigeria.
Isa Ali Pantami pointed out that the Nigerian Constitution mandates that ministers must be affiliated with a political party. He explained that his party registration was a procedural necessity tied to his former role in government, not a departure from his religious identity.
