The Bauchi State Government on Thursday ordered the closure of major roads across the state capital to facilitate a condolence visit by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the family of a late prominent Islamic scholar, triggering widespread disruption to movement and economic activities within the city.

The road shutdowns, enforced by security agencies and traffic officials, affected several key routes linking residential areas, markets, and commercial districts, leaving many residents stranded for hours and reigniting concerns about the impact of presidential movements on ordinary citizens.

Presidential Visit and Official Justification

President Tinubu was in Bauchi to commiserate with the family of the deceased Islamic scholar, who was regarded as a leading religious figure with influence across northern Nigeria.
