ASUU Warn Federal Government: Pay Our Money or We Shut Down All Universities Again

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) don raise voice say dem fit go on indefinite strike if government no meet their old and new demands. Na wahala dey brew again for Nigeria education system as The union leaders talk say since the last strike wey dem call off, government never fulfill most of the agreements wey dem sign.

According to dem, things like unpaid salaries, poor funding, and lack of proper university infrastructure still dey drag since. ASUU president yarn say, “We don tire to dey beg government. If dem no take action quick, we no get choice than to down tools again.”

Na the same matter wey don cause serious gbege before, and students don begin dey fear say another long holiday dey come wey go scatter their academic calendar again.

ASUU Say Government Dey Use Grammar Instead of Action

The union leaders no even hide their vex. Dem say every time government promise to meet their demand, na only grammar full the meeting — nothing ever happen after. According to one ASUU rep, “Dem go call us for meeting, talk plenty English, take picture, shake hand, and after that, silence. We no be mumu again.”

Dem complain say lecturers still dey suffer from poor working conditions and unpaid allowances, while research funds don dry like harmattan well. The union say make government stop to dey play politics with education and face the real issue wey concern the future of Nigerian youths.

Meanwhile, some government officials don talk say negotiation still dey ongoing, but ASUU talk say dem no wan hear story again — dem need result, not promises.

ASUU Strike Threat Don Shake Campuses Across Nigeria

As the wahala don start again, students from different universities don begin express their frustration. Some talk say dem never recover from the last strike, and another one fit just kill their hope entirely. One student from UNILAG talk say, “If ASUU strike start again, I go just learn tech or relocate go village. Education for this country don tire me.”
