Zlatan Ibile Laments Harsh Economy, Urges Nigerians to Work Hard Despite Government Neglect

Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has voiced deep frustration over the worsening economic hardship across the country, saying the government has failed to take meaningful action to relieve citizens’ suffering. Speaking during an interview with Madame Joyce in the UK, Zlatan described the current state of living as a “cycle of suffering and smiling” that has become normalized among Nigerians.

He criticized government leaders for being disconnected from the struggles of the average citizen, arguing that basic needs such as food, fuel, and housing have become luxuries. “We are used to it — suffering and smiling — that’s how it has always been, and the government isn’t doing anything about it,” he lamented.

The “Zanku” crooner noted that the cost of living keeps rising while the value of the naira continues to drop, leaving many young people hopeless. He urged Nigerian leaders to take responsibility and implement real solutions that address hunger, unemployment, and insecurity rather than making empty promises.

Government Has Failed Nigerians — Zlatan Ibile Speaks on Poverty, Inequality, and Daily Struggles

Zlatan Ibile didn’t hold back as he called out the Nigerian government for neglecting the suffering masses. According to him, poverty and inequality have become an accepted part of daily life, with most citizens too exhausted to demand accountability. He pointed out that while politicians flaunt wealth, ordinary Nigerians are left battling for survival.

Referencing British rapper Dave’s observation of Nigeria’s nightlife culture, Zlatan expressed shame that while people spend millions in clubs, beggars line up outside, struggling to eat. He said the contrast reflects a broken system that benefits the few and abandons the many.

Despite his criticism, Zlatan emphasized that change must also start from within. He urged Nigerians to unite, work hard, and support one another rather than waiting endlessly for government intervention. “The system has failed us, but we can still build something better if we help ourselves,” he said.

In his message, Zlatan Ibile urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the harsh economy. The rapper, who built his career from the streets, said that while the government’s failures are evident, self-determination remains key to survival. “If you wait for the government to fix your life, you’ll wait forever. You have to hustle and find your path,” he advised.

He also addressed street beggars who rely on handouts, encouraging them to pursue meaningful ventures that could help them break the cycle of poverty. Zlatan noted that while compassion is necessary, empowerment and opportunity create more lasting change than pity.

Ending on an optimistic note, the rapper reminded his fans that Nigeria’s youth still hold the power to shape the country’s future through creativity, hard work, and resilience. “We can’t give up on this country. We just have to stay focused and keep pushing,” he said.
