Veteran Actor RMD Calls for Discipline Among Youth to Secure a Better Tomorrow

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has issued a strong piece of advice to young men on how to avoid wasting their lives. In a recent message, the celebrated screen icon emphasized that three habits—smoking, excessive drinking, and womanizing—remain some of the fastest ways for young men to destroy their future. According to him, these lifestyle traps have been responsible for the downfall of many who once had great potential.

RMD pointed out that while these habits may appear harmless or even pleasurable in the beginning, they often lead to a dangerous cycle of addiction and distraction. For young men seeking long-term success, he stressed the need for discipline and focus, warning that once a person becomes hooked on these vices, it becomes difficult to break free.

The actor, who is also admired for his wisdom and inspirational outlook, explained that life rewards consistency, hard work, and sacrifice—not reckless living. He therefore encouraged his followers to prioritize their goals and invest their energy in meaningful pursuits rather than fleeting pleasures.

The Danger of Losing Focus

In his message, RMD painted a clear picture of how smoking, drinking, and womanizing can derail an individual’s destiny. He observed that once a young man falls into these habits, he gradually loses sight of his dreams. Instead of working toward a brighter future, such a person begins to live as though success has already been achieved. This false sense of arrival, according to him, is what keeps many people stagnant while their peers make progress.

He further highlighted that the culture of “party after party, smoke after drink, woman after woman” is a deceptive lifestyle that eats away at time, money, and focus. With each passing day, the opportunities that could have been used to build a solid foundation for the future slip away unnoticed. By the time reality sets in, RMD warned, the individual may realize that years have been wasted on habits that add no value.

To illustrate his point, he reminded young men that success does not come overnight, but through patience, persistence, and wise choices. He urged them to remain vigilant, understanding that peer pressure and societal trends often push people toward destructive habits that only lead to regret.

A Call for Discipline and Wisdom

Concluding his message, RMD appealed directly to young men to take charge of their lives and embrace wisdom. He noted that being a man is not just about age or physical maturity, but about making sound decisions that secure a better tomorrow. For him, true masculinity lies in discipline, responsibility, and the courage to say no to distractions that can derail one’s future.

He reminded parents, guardians, and mentors that they also have a role to play in guiding the younger generation. By setting good examples and reinforcing positive values, they can help young men resist the temptations of smoking, excessive drinking, and womanizing. RMD’s words, though simple, carried the weight of experience, resonating with many who see him as a voice of wisdom in Nigerian entertainment and beyond.

His reminder, “Be a man. Be wise,” has since struck a chord across social media, where fans praised him for delivering timeless advice in a society where distractions are becoming increasingly difficult to resist.
