Tinubu Unfazed by ADC Formation, Focused on Development – Aide

President Bola Tinubu remains committed to delivering on his administration’s promises to Nigerians despite the recent reorganisation of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into a formidable opposition bloc.

Speaking with journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to the President, said Tinubu is undeterred by the emergence of new political parties and alliances. He stressed that the President Tinubu is focused on charting Nigeria’s path toward unity, progress, and sustainable development.

Tinubu remains undeterred by the formation of the ADC; he has reaffirmed his commitment to leading the nation towards progress and development,” Abdulaziz stated.

Tinubu’s Administration Policies and Development Projects

According to the presidential aide, the Federal Government under Tinubu continues to prioritise economic growth, security, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare. He pointed to several ongoing initiatives as evidence of the administration’s resolve.

Highlighting infrastructure projects, Abdulaziz noted that the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been completed, while major routes such as the Sokoto-Lagos and Lagos-Calabar roads are underway. He also mentioned the construction of a rail line extending to Maiduguri as part of efforts to boost connectivity and stimulate economic growth.

“These projects, along with people-focused policies, are designed to improve the welfare of Nigerians regardless of party affiliations,” Abdulaziz explained. “The vision of the president is to promote unity, prosperity, and long-term development.”

Opposition Politics and National Unity

On the emergence of the ADC as an opposition force, Abdulaziz described it as a natural part of Nigeria’s democratic landscape. The party, founded in 2016, has been restructured by political heavyweights including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Senate President David Mark with the goal of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Abdulaziz, however, maintained that Tinubu remains committed to governing beyond party lines. He emphasized that the president has been engaging with stakeholders such as traditional rulers, civil society groups, and political leaders to foster inclusivity and national strength.

“The president leadership is about building a stronger nation where every citizen feels represented,” he said. “This is why his Tinubu administration is investing in both physical infrastructure and social programmes to achieve tangible results for Nigerians.”
