The Supreme Head of C&S Church Samuel Ajayi Sparks Debate: ‘Fasting and Prayers, Not Policies, Will Save Nigeria’

Samuel Ajayi, the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Agbojesu Conference Worldwide, has emphasized that Nigeria’s myriad of socio-economic and security challenges can only be resolved through consistent prayers and fasting. Speaking during the church’s Annual General Convention in Oyo State, Samuel Ajayi called on Nigerians to unite in faith and seek divine intervention for the nation’s progress.

Samuel Ajayi urged citizens to remain steadfast in their prayers, asserting that spiritual commitment, coupled with responsible governance, can pave the way for the country’s transformation. “The problems we face today are not beyond God’s power. We must align ourselves with Him through prayers, and He will heal our land,” he stated emphatically.

The Role of Fasting and Prayers in National Development

Samuel Ajayi underscored the significance of fasting and prayers in addressing the nation’s issues, drawing biblical parallels to highlight their effectiveness. He referred to the story of the Israelites, who overcame their trials by seeking divine intervention. “Our nation is not different; God is still in the business of transforming lives and nations,” he said.

He also called on faith-based organizations to intensify their efforts in intercessory prayers for Nigeria. According to him, when people humble themselves before God and seek His face through fasting and prayers, miracles become inevitable. “We must not underestimate the power of unity in faith. Together, we can bring about a spiritual revival that will birth positive change,” Ajayi added.

Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Crisis: A Call for Spiritual Leadership

Addressing Nigeria’s economic instability, Samuel Ajayi highlighted the need for spiritual leadership alongside political reforms. He stated that no amount of policy implementation can yield lasting results without the involvement of divine wisdom. “We need God’s guidance in our leadership to navigate this turbulent period. Leaders must humble themselves and seek divine insight for sustainable development,” he noted.

Samuel Ajayi also appealed to political leaders to embrace humility and fear of God in their decision-making processes. He explained that spiritual backing is critical to tackling corruption, poverty, and insecurity, which have become endemic in the nation.

Security Concerns and the Need for Divine Intervention

Touching on the worsening security situation in the country, Samuel Ajayi lamented the increasing cases of kidnappings, banditry, and terrorism. He insisted that while security agencies are doing their best, only divine intervention can bring about a lasting solution. “No human effort can fully eradicate evil without God’s help. We need to pray fervently for peace to reign in Nigeria,” he said.

He further called on Nigerians to support security personnel with prayers and moral encouragement. “Our soldiers and police officers are risking their lives daily to protect us. We must also play our part by covering them in prayers for strength, wisdom, and protection,” he added.

Youth Empowerment and the Church’s Role in Nation-Building

Samuel Ajayi also spoke extensively on the role of youths in nation-building, urging the younger generation to take responsibility for the future of Nigeria. He encouraged them to embrace hard work, discipline, and faith, noting that they are critical to the country’s progress. “Our youths must rise above mediocrity and take charge of their destinies. With faith and determination, they can create a better Nigeria,” he said.

The Cherubim and Seraphim leader also emphasized the church’s responsibility in mentoring and empowering young people. He announced plans by the church to launch skill acquisition programs aimed at equipping youths with the tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive world.

Samuel Ajayi’s Vision for Nigeria’s Spiritual and Economic Revival

Samuel Ajayi concluded his address with a vision of hope for Nigeria, assuring citizens that the country’s best days are still ahead. He reiterated that with unity, faith, and collective effort, the nation can overcome its challenges. “God has not abandoned Nigeria. We must remain steadfast in our faith, and soon, we will see the manifestation of His promises,” he declared.

The Annual General Convention ended with prayers for the nation’s leaders, citizens, and economic recovery. Samuel Ajayi’s message has resonated widely, reminding Nigerians of the power of spiritual commitment in achieving national transformation.
