Rotimi Salami Reveals Why He Would Still Raise A Child Even If DNA Test Proves He’s Not The Father

Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has stirred conversation online after sharing his strong views about fatherhood and paternity. The actor revealed that he would still accept and raise a child even if a DNA test later proves the child is not biologically his. His statement has sparked reactions from fans who praised his emotional maturity and sense of responsibility.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Yoruba, Salami explained that the bond formed while raising a child from infancy cannot easily be broken by scientific results. According to him, if a child has grown up knowing him as a father, it would be unfair to suddenly withdraw that love and support simply because of a DNA result.

The actor added that a child should never suffer for circumstances beyond their control. Salami stressed that the emotional connection and responsibility he developed while raising the child would make it impossible for him to walk away, regardless of what a DNA test might reveal.

Rotimi Salami Says DNA Result Won’t Break Father-Child Bond

Rotimi Salami further explained that the identity and emotional security of a child are more important than biological ties alone. According to him, if a child has already grown up calling him “father,” abandoning the child after a DNA discovery would cause deep emotional harm.

The Nollywood star noted that the love built over years of parenting goes beyond blood relations. He said that fatherhood is not only about genetics but also about care, sacrifice, and commitment to raising a child responsibly.

Rotimi Salami’s comments have since sparked debates online, with many people applauding his compassionate perspective. Others, however, questioned whether such a stance would be easy to maintain in real-life situations where betrayal might also be involved.

The Child Will Always Bear My Name” — Salami Draws Line Between Wife And Child

While speaking about possible complications surrounding paternity, Rotimi Salami clarified that any conflict arising from a DNA result would be between him and his wife, not the child. He insisted that the child should never be blamed or punished for something they had no control over.

According to the actor, the child would still carry his name and continue to see him as a father figure because the child did not choose the circumstances of their birth. He emphasized that responsibility toward the child should remain intact regardless of marital issues.
Salami concluded by saying that if such a situation ever occurred, the real conversation would be between husband and wife. For him, protecting the emotional well-being of the child would remain the most important priority.
