Rivers State, Nigeria: Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a declaration naming Gift David Okpara Okpolowu, also known as 2-Baba, and his criminal gang as wanted individuals for the murder of Divisional Police Officer Bako Angbashim in Odiemudie Community, Ahoada East local government area of the state.

Governor Fubara has also announced a reward of N100 million for anyone providing valuable information leading to the arrest and prosecution of 2-Baba.

Monarch Suspended Indefinitely Over Alleged Role in Crime and Murder

Additionally, in an effort to reduce crime in Rivers State, the Governor has imposed an indefinite suspension on Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, a monarch, for his involvement in the murder. According to the Governor’s statement, the monarch had given control of his territory to David Gift and his gang, allowing them to operate freely and engage in criminal activities.

Governor Fubara’s statement, released on Saturday evening, details the circumstances of the murder, where SP Bako Angbashim and his team were ambushed and attacked by criminals while returning from an operation. Sadly, SP Bako was shot, captured, and subsequently killed by his captors.

Government Takes Stand Against Criminal Gangs in Rivers State

The statement attributes the incident to Gift David Okpara Okpolowu (2-Baba) and his criminal gang, who have established camps in the area and are responsible for escalating violent crimes, including kidnapping and terrorism, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

As a responsible government, Governor Fubara emphasizes the need to combat and prevent criminal activities from flourishing in any part of the state. The governor’s action is in line with the current trend to fight criminal gangs all over Nigeria in an effort to crack down on security issues and foster confidence in business activities.
