President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday received Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, at the State House in Abuja following the gruesome attacks on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. The high-level meeting came amid national outrage and deepening concern over the renewed wave of violent assaults on rural communities in Nigeria’s North-Central region.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was formally briefed on the scale of the violence, with Governor AbdulRazaq describing the incident as a “pure massacre” carried out overnight by armed assailants. According to the governor, no fewer than 75 victims had already been buried, while many others were injured or displaced, leaving entire communities traumatised and fearful.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu listened as details emerged about how the attackers exploited the remoteness of the communities and the thin security presence to unleash coordinated violence. The President expressed deep concern over the humanitarian toll of the attack and emphasised that the loss of innocent lives was unacceptable under any circumstance.
