In a significant victory against criminal activities in the region, Operation Safe Haven– (OPSH) launched Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV from October 29 to November 5, 2023. During this operation, troops executed a series of successful anti-crime missions, neutralizing suspected bandits and arresting 19 individuals connected to various criminal activities, including kidnapping, criminal attacks, cattle rustling, armed robbery, farm destruction, theft, and the recovery of arms, ammunition, and illicit drugs.

Troops Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers and Recover Locally Fabricated Rifle

On October 29, 2023, acting on credible intelligence, Operation Safe Haven troops apprehended two suspected drug dealers, identified as Mr. Obinna Nwafor and Fatai Lawal, at Kujiya Market in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. During the operation, the troops successfully seized one locally fabricated rifle. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing profiling for further legal action.

On October 30, 2023, troops from Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven conducted a successful operation in Kamuru village, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The operation led to the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Bawa Ahmad, who was found in possession of a locally fabricated rifle and cartridges. This apprehension demonstrates the commitment of OPSH in addressing kidnapping and related criminal activities.

Notorious Armed Robber Apprehended Under Operation Safe Haven

On October 30, 2023, troops of Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV coordinated by Operation Safe Haven successfully arrested two motorcycle snatchers, identified as Samaila Nasiru and Bashir Sani, in the Riyom general area of Plateau State. Their arrest resulted in the recovery of stolen motorcycles, furthering the mission to curb crime in the region.

In a significant development, on November 3, 2023, troops from Sector 4 of Operation Safe Haven successfully arrested Sarajo Adam, a notorious armed robber, at Kwog village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. Sarajo Adam had been on the wanted list of security agencies for his involvement in several armed robbery activities in the Barkin Ladi general area and its environs. His capture represents a significant step in enhancing the security situation in the region.

Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV, conducted by Operation Safe Haven, demonstrates the commitment of the Nigerian military in addressing various criminal activities in the affected areas. These recent successes in arresting suspects and recovering illicit materials and weapons underscore the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region OPSH.

Arrests Made in Connection to Attacks and Murders in Plateau State

In a recent breakthrough in their ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security, the Nigerian troops have arrested several suspects in connection with various attacks and crimes in Plateau State. On 30 October 2023, three individuals, namely Ibrahim Mohammed, Salisu Abdullahi, and Idris Abdullahi, were apprehended in connection to the attack on farmers at Mai Hakorin Gold village in Bokkos LGA, Plateau State.

Additionally, three other suspects, David Emmanuel, Moses Dalyop, and Gabriel Davou, were arrested in connection with the murder of a commercial motorcyclist, Abdulkarim Saidu, at Shonong village in Riyom LGA, Plateau State. These arrests, made on the same day, have provided crucial leads in solving these cases. The suspects further cooperated with the troops, leading to the recovery of the motorcyclist’s corpse. The arrests mark a significant step towards bringing those responsible for these crimes to justice.

Rescues of Kidnapped Victims in Kaduna and Plateau States

The Nigerian troops have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the people in Kaduna and Plateau States with a series of successful rescue operations. On 30 October 2023, Ms. Abigail Felix, who was kidnapped two days earlier from Angwan Malam village in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State, was rescued. The troops acted swiftly and efficiently to secure her release, and she has since been reunited with her family.

Additionally, on 1 November 2023, troops collaborated with the Civilian Joint Task Force to rescue two kidnapped victims in the Zobolo general area of Jos North LGA, Plateau State. These rescues demonstrate the effectiveness of the security forces in combating criminal activities and protecting the lives of citizens.

Successful Operation Rescues Kidnapped Reverend Father in Kaduna State

On 4 November 2023, the Nigerian troops successfully carried out an operation to rescue Reverend Father Andrew Anana, who had been kidnapped from his residence at Saint Francis Catholic Church in the Godo Godo district of Jema’a LGA, Kaduna State. Thanks to the quick response and dedication of the troops, the victim was rescued unharmed, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens.

Two suspects involved in the kidnapping, Isia Etopia and Musa Opisa, have confessed to their involvement in the crime. This development promises to further assist in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and bringing those responsible to justice.

The recent arrests and rescues in Plateau and Kaduna States reflect the relentless efforts of the Nigerian troops in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of the local population.
