Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria's First Lady Urges Nigerians to Embrace Peaceful Coexistence as Pathway to National Prosperity

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians across religious, ethnic, and political divides to embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that peace remains the cornerstone of sustainable national development. Drawing from biblical teachings, she emphasized that harmony, love, and mutual understanding are essential values that determine the progress and prosperity of any society.

Oluremi Tinubu noted that Nigeria’s diversity, when managed with tolerance and respect, can become a powerful strength rather than a source of conflict. She explained that peace creates an enabling environment for economic growth, social stability, and national unity, adding that no meaningful development can occur in a climate of fear, hatred, or persistent violence.

According to her, the biblical emphasis on peace reflects universal principles that apply beyond religious boundaries. Oluremi Tinubu stated that when citizens consciously choose peace in their daily interactions, they contribute to a stronger, more resilient nation capable of overcoming its challenges and unlocking its full potential.

Oluremi Tinubu Highlights Biblical Foundations of Peace and Prosperity

Oluremi Tinubu referenced scriptural teachings that portray peace as a divine command and a prerequisite for prosperity. She explained that the Bible consistently links peace with blessings, stability, and communal progress, underscoring the belief that societies anchored on peace are more likely to flourish economically and socially.

Oluremi Tinubu stressed that peace is not simply the absence of conflict but an active pursuit of justice, fairness, and love among people. She urged Nigerians to internalize these values by promoting tolerance, forgiveness, and dialogue in their families, workplaces, and communities, noting that small acts of peace can collectively lead to national transformation.

She further explained that faith-based messages of peace align with global development principles, where harmony and cooperation are recognized as critical drivers of growth. By drawing attention to these shared values, Oluremi Tinubu said Nigeria can foster unity while respecting the country’s rich religious and cultural diversity.

Oluremi Tinubu Calls on Citizens and Leaders to Promote National Unity

Oluremi Tinubu appealed to Nigerians, particularly community, religious, and political leaders, to take responsibility for nurturing peace at all levels of society. She emphasized that leaders play a critical role in shaping public attitudes and must therefore lead by example through words and actions that promote unity rather than division.

Oluremi Tinubu noted that peaceful coexistence strengthens trust among citizens and between the people and government, creating a stable environment for investment, job creation, and improved living standards. She added that unity enhances Nigeria’s image on the global stage, positioning the country as a credible partner in international relations and economic cooperation.

She expressed optimism that Nigeria can achieve lasting peace if citizens collectively commit to mutual respect and understanding. She reaffirmed that a peaceful Nigeria would not only experience prosperity but also secure a future where generations can thrive in harmony, dignity, and shared progress.
