North-Central APC Warns Tinubu: ‘We Will No Longer Tolerate Chairmanship Injustice

North-Central APC has reignited its agitation for the office of the National Chairman following the resignation of Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje. In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, the Forum declared that the time has come for the party to “correct the injustice” and restore the chairmanship to the zone.

North-Central APC argued that this vacancy is not just a routine leadership reshuffle but a crucial opportunity for the party to realign with the principles of equity, justice, and zoning. The Forum, led by Saleh Zazzaga, emphasized that the region’s loyalty and contribution to the 2023 general election must be rewarded with leadership inclusion.

North-Central APC Cites Interrupted Tenure and Zoning Breach

North-Central APC reminded stakeholders that the original mandate of the National Chairman was held by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who hails from the region. The sudden replacement with Ganduje from the North-West, according to them, was an act of political sidelining that breached internal agreements.

North-Central APC stressed that while they initially chose peace over protest, the recent developments have made it impossible to continue in silence. “The chairmanship belongs to us by rotation and tenure. It is not a gift, it is our right,” the Forum maintained emphatically.

North-Central APC Accuses Party of Long-Term Marginalization

North-Central APC strongly accused the ruling party of serial marginalization, stating that this has been the norm rather than the exception. According to the Forum, the region has consistently delivered electoral support but has been excluded from the highest levels of decision-making.

This geopolitical APC said it has reached a tipping point where loyalty without recognition is no longer acceptable. “We are treated like political tools during campaigns and discarded during appointments. That cycle must break,” Zazzaga lamented.

This geopolitical APC Calls on Tinubu and APC NEC to Intervene

This geopolitical APC directly called on President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) to ensure that the leadership vacuum is filled by someone from the region. The Forum warned that any attempt to retain the office in the North-West or divert it elsewhere would deepen internal fractures.

This geopolitical APC argued that President Tinubu, as a known advocate of justice, has a moral and political obligation to enforce zoning fairness. “This is not the time for silence or fence-sitting. The entire North-Central is watching, and so is the rest of the country,” the statement added.

North-Central APC revealed it had previously pursued legal action when Ganduje’s appointment was initially ratified. Although that litigation was later withdrawn in the spirit of party unity, the Forum said they are ready to return to court if the injustice is repeated.

This geopolitical APC also hinted at potential political consequences, including mass protests and party withdrawal, if their demands are ignored again. “We will explore every constitutional and democratic option available to us,” the Forum warned.

North-Central APC Says Future Elections May Be Affected

North-Central APC warned that the mishandling of this chairmanship issue could have dire consequences for the party’s electoral fortunes in 2027. They emphasized that the region’s electorate would not remain passive if their leaders are disrespected by the national hierarchy.

This geopolitical APC concluded by urging the party to make the “right and timely decision,” describing this moment as a test of APC’s credibility and unity. “The days of political slavery are over. The North-Central deserves to lead, not just follow,” Zazzaga stated boldly.
