Nigerian Association Of Resident Doctors (NARD) Set to Resume Total Strike Jan 12 Over Welfare Wahala

Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) don announce say dem go start total, indefinite strike from January 12, 2026. NARD talk say government never fulfill wetin dem promise for doctors welfare, and dis na why dem dey force am to continue strike.

Di NARD President, Dr Mohammed Suleiman, talk say di strike wey dem tag as TICS 2.0 and theme “No Implementation, No Going Back,” go start sharp by 12:00 a.m. on Jan 12. E add say strike no go stop until government deliver all wetin dem talk say dem go do for doctors.

All 91 centre presidents nationwide don get instruction to hold congress meeting and brief media within one week to make sure say NARD matter clear reach everybody. Di strike go dey accompany by series of protest across di country.

No Implementation, No Going Back” – NARD Warns FG As Strike Looms

NARD don warn Federal Government say dem no go gree if dem no implement di welfare demands. Di doctors association don give government deadline and talk say dem go start TICS 2.0 strike come Jan 12.

Suleiman talk say protests go dey from centre-level Jan 12-16, then regional demonstrations go follow, and finally national protest go happen under National Officers Committee. Wetin dem dey demand include reinstatement of “FTH Lokoja five,” payment of salary and promotion arrears, and full professional allowance wey government suppose carry enter 2026 budget.

Other wahala dem dey too, like house officers salary delays, entry-level issues, work hour regulations, specialist allowance reintroduction, and resumption of collective bargaining agreement process. NARD recall say dem don suspend 29-day strike in November 2025 after government promise to act, but nothing happen.

NARD Strike Ready, Doctors Demand Better Welfare From FG
