Jonathan Declares He Holds No Grudges Over Past Political Actions

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has reiterated that he harbors no resentment or bitterness toward those who opposed him during his years in public office. The former leader emphasized that his outlook on leadership is built on forgiveness, reconciliation, and the conviction that politics must not be tainted by hatred or revenge.

Jonathan explained that during his time in power, he faced several difficult political battles and personal attacks, but he has chosen to let go of any sense of grievance. According to him, dwelling on grudges would not only weigh down his personal growth but would also hinder the progress of the nation. He stressed that Nigeria’s democracy could only thrive if its leaders embrace forgiveness and unity.

The former president noted that public service is never without challenges, but leaders must rise above bitterness. He highlighted that the ability to forgive and move forward is a quality every true statesman should embody.

Jonathan on Leadership Beyond Bitterness

Jonathan stated that true leadership requires placing the greater interest of the people above personal grievances. He maintained that holding on to grudges could poison the political system and alienate citizens who seek fairness and justice from their leaders.
