Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State demonstrated his commitment to alleviating food insecurity in Monguno Local Government Area on Sunday. Overseeing a massive distribution effort, Zulum ensured that more than 35,000 male heads of household received essential supplies. Each beneficiary received a generous allocation, including a 25kg bag of rice and cowpeas, crucial for sustaining local agricultural efforts. This distribution initiative was made possible through 20 trucks of rice donated by the federal government, aimed at mitigating the economic hardships exacerbated by soaring food prices in the region.

During his visit on Sunday, Governor Zulum underscored the importance of this initiative, stating, “We have also distributed N10,000 in cash support and a wrapper to each of the over 45,000 widows and vulnerable women in Monguno town.”
