Governor Ahmad Aliyu Unveils Fresh Security Measures to Strengthen Intelligence and Coordination

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has declared that banditry will soon become a thing of the past in the state, unveiling fresh initiatives designed to intensify the fight against the long-standing security challenge. Speaking while declaring open the 17th regular meeting of the State Executive Council—the final session for the year—the governor expressed strong optimism that renewed strategies will significantly weaken criminal networks operating across the state.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu stated that the Sokoto State Government is committed to deploying every available resource to restore peace and security, particularly in rural communities that have borne the brunt of bandit attacks. He emphasized that the administration’s resolve is firm and unwavering, noting that security remains a top priority of his government.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu reassured residents that the new measures are not starting from scratch but are built upon existing frameworks that are already yielding positive outcomes. According to him, the state is now positioned to record more decisive gains against banditry through improved planning, coordination, and intelligence-driven operations.
