Governor Ademola Adeleke: Should I Stop Dancing Just to Please My Critics?

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his commitment to governing with energy and positivity, declaring that his love for dancing has no negative impact on his performance in office. Instead, he insists that his joyful personality helps him stay connected with the people while maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

Governor Adeleke explained that those who criticize him for dancing misunderstand both his leadership style and his achievements. According to him, dance is simply an expression of happiness, not a distraction from his responsibilities. He noted that despite public opinions, he has consistently delivered on infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and development projects across Osun State.

He stressed that leadership should not be about rigid appearances but about results, empathy, and the ability to stay grounded. For him, dancing is a personal trademark that reflects joy and connects him to the grassroots. He added that his administration’s records already speak louder than the criticisms.

Performance, Not Posture, Defines Governance

Ademola Adeleke pointed out that his government has executed several major projects, including road construction, school rehabilitation, healthcare upgrades, and digital innovation initiatives. He argued that his work ethic remains intact and that dancing has never interfered with state matters.

He reminded critics that previous governors around the world have been known for unique personalities and still delivered exceptional governance. His focus, he said, remains on improving Osun’s economy, strengthening security, and ensuring effective public service delivery.

Ademola Adeleke Says Joy Is a Leadership Strength

The governor concluded that Nigeria’s political culture needs to evolve beyond focusing on personalities and instead concentrate on measurable outcomes. He emphasized that joy, charisma, and openness can coexist with serious governance.

Ademola Adeleke reaffirmed that he will “keep dancing” because it is part of who he is — and as long as Osun State continues to witness growth, no amount of criticism will make him stop expressing himself.
