In a recent Sunday newsletter, Representative Paul Gosar, who represents Arizona’s 9th district, stirred controversy by suggesting that a retiring general “should be hung” for alleged delays in National Guard deployment during the events of January 6th. This statement follows former President Donald Trump’s earlier comments, in which he implied that the military leader might deserve the “death penalty” for his purported actions.

Gosar has faced criticism and calls for censure after reports emerged that his newsletter contained a link to a website promoting antisemitism and Holocaust denialism.

The congressman’s remarks have drawn attention, especially in light of Trump’s prior comments about the retiring general. This has prompted condemnation from conservatives across various backgrounds.

Gosar’s newsletter accused General Milley, who currently serves as the Chairman of the military joint chiefs, of being complicit in delaying the National Guard’s response. The congressman referred to Milley as a “homosexual-promoting-BLM-activist” and claimed that he had coordinated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an attempt to undermine President Trump, even suggesting that Milley should face severe consequences.

The Cogressman’s inflammatory statements have raised questions about the general’s continued tenure, with the congressman calling for accountability and asserting that Milley’s actions amounted to betrayal of the former president.
