The FG don announce say from now on, anybody wey wan enter public service go first pass mandatory drug test before dem fit get job. Dis new policy come under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, as part of effort to reduce drug abuse and make government workforce clean and productive.
According to one circular wey Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) release on Monday, all Permanent Secretaries and oga dem for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) must add drug screening join their recruitment process. Government talk say dem no wan again employ people wey drug go affect their work or judgment.
The circular also direct MDAs make dem work hand-in-hand with NDLEA so that the drug tests go follow proper standard. FG believe say this step go help reduce drug wahala for workplace and also protect national security.
Drug Abuse Too Much – FG Say Drug Test Go Help Clean Public Service
Federal Government say the main reason for this mandatory drug test na because drug abuse don reach alarming level, especially among Nigerian youths. According to government, substance abuse dey affect public health, economy, workplace efficiency and even national security.

FG Extend War Against Drugs as Job Seekers, Students Face Drug Screening
This new rule no be the first step wey FG don take against drug abuse. Recently, government don already introduce drug testing for students in universities and other sectors. The pre-employment drug test for civil service applicants na continuation of that wider anti-drug campaign.
FG say dem wan attack drug abuse from all angles, make e no get hiding place for Nigeria. By screening job seekers, students and workers, government hope say e go discourage young people from drug use.
