Chukwuma Soludo Revalidates APGA Membership, Hails Party’s Digital Transformation

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the party commenced its nationwide electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise. The initiative, which began on March 1, is being conducted simultaneously across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory.

Soludo completed the registration alongside his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, describing the process as seamless and consistent with the provisions of the Electoral Act. In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, the governor said the digital registration system represents a significant step forward in strengthening the party’s internal structures.

Governor Soludo noted that by participating early in the process, he and his wife sought to demonstrate commitment and encourage other party members to comply with the ongoing exercise.

Governor Soludo Hail Digital Innovation and Electoral Compliance

According to Soludo, the introduction of an electronic membership database marks a turning point for APGA. He described the digital transition as a transformative move that distinguishes the party as a pioneer in adopting technology-driven reforms within Nigeria’s political landscape.

The Governor Soludo emphasised that the integration of the National Identification Number into the registration process, as required under the Electoral Act, would enhance transparency and credibility. He stated that the party was not merely updating records but building a more robust and verifiable membership structure capable of supporting long-term institutional growth.

Soludo further called on existing members to revalidate their status and urged prospective members to take advantage of what he described as a simplified and inclusive system designed to ensure broad participation.

Nationwide Exercise Targets Two Million Members

Earlier, APGA had invited stakeholders, supporters, and members across the country to participate in the electronic registration drive. Speaking at a press briefing at the party’s zonal headquarters in Awka, the National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, said the exercise is being conducted in all 8,809 electoral wards nationwide.

Opara explained that the initiative aims to modernise the party’s database, ensure data integrity, and promote inclusivity. He added that participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number to complete the registration process.

The party is targeting more than two million new and revalidated members through the nationwide campaign. Existing members are expected to confirm their details, while new members are encouraged to join, as the party seeks to consolidate its structure ahead of future political engagements.
