Blessing CEO Calls Out Phyna Over Dangote Saga, Questions ₦5bn Demand

Social media platforms have been set abuzz following comments by self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Blessing CEO, who openly criticized Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, over her dispute with the Dangote Group. The matter stems from Phyna’s demand for compensation in relation to the passing of her late sister, Ruth.

Blessing CEO argued that Phyna was overstepping by making public demands for financial compensation from Dangote. According to her, the company had already extended ₦20 million in burial support to the deceased’s father, who reportedly signed an acknowledgment letter for the assistance. She stressed that Phyna should not be the one spearheading the matter, since she is neither the direct parent of the deceased nor the recognized representative of the family.

Her comments have reignited debates over respect, family hierarchy, and the right approach to addressing sensitive issues such as death, corporate responsibility, and public accountability.

Let Your Parents Speak,” Blessing CEO Tells Phyna

In her remarks, Blessing CEO said that Phyna’s continued online outbursts were damaging her credibility and drawing unnecessary ridicule to the situation. “You don’t have much say in this matter. Let your parents speak, people will take them serious. Even your father once called you out publicly, so why can’t he call out Dangote himself?” she asked pointedly.

She further noted that Phyna’s demand for ₦5 billion in compensation was “unrealistic” and only served to undermine the seriousness of her claims. Blessing added that in her recent live videos, Phyna often appeared disorganized and emotional, which made it difficult for many observers to take her demands seriously.

The relationship expert’s blunt remarks have been interpreted by many as an attempt to highlight cultural norms around parental authority and to caution Phyna against letting grief or anger push her into rash public actions.

Social Media Reactions Divide Opinion

Unsurprisingly, Blessing CEO’s comments have sparked a wave of mixed reactions across various online platforms. Some Nigerians agreed with her position, insisting that Phyna’s parents were the rightful parties to handle negotiations or raise complaints against Dangote. They argued that the matter should not be fought on social media but rather pursued through private dialogue or legal channels.

Others, however, criticized Blessing CEO for her harsh tone and accused her of insensitivity towards Phyna’s grief. They argued that as the deceased’s sibling, Phyna had a legitimate emotional stake in the matter and the right to demand accountability from any party she believed was involved.

For now, the controversy continues to dominate headlines and online conversations, with no official response yet issued by the Dangote Group regarding Blessing’s comments. What remains clear is that the matter has once again highlighted the volatile mix of grief, celebrity influence, and corporate responsibility in Nigeria’s public discourse.
