Acting National Chairman APC, Ali Bukar Dalori Slams Phantom Coalition Plots: “Hotel Politicians Will Flee After Election Defeat

Ali Bukar Dalori, the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has fiercely discredited growing rumors of a political coalition meant to upstage the ruling party. Speaking during a press briefing in Maiduguri, Dalori mocked the proponents of such an alliance, saying they exist only in Abuja and within the luxury walls of hotels—completely detached from the grassroots realities of Nigerian politics.

According to Bukar Dalori, “Nobody is talking about any coalition except in Abuja. And even there, they are just hanging around in hotels. These are people who will vanish abroad once they lose elections. Their noise doesn’t reflect the mood of Nigerians.” He warned Nigerians not to be misled by what he described as “elite manipulations crafted in air-conditioned conference halls.”

Hotel Room Politics: A Symptom of Political Irrelevance

Ali Bukar Dalori criticized the so-called coalition leaders for relying solely on social media optics and photo-ops within five-star hotels in Abuja. “They think politics is about Instagram photos and executive lounges,” he said. “Let them try visiting the grassroots—real people know who’s working and who’s only trending online.”

He further suggested that the coalition actors are using these stunts to remain politically relevant after suffering electoral defeats. “They’re not trying to save Nigeria; they’re trying to save face,” Dalori emphasized. “They have no base, no structure, and no understanding of the current dynamics outside the capital.”

APC Still Strong and Expanding Nationwide

The Acting Chairman took time to reaffirm the strength of the APC across Nigeria, dismissing claims of internal fracture or voter fatigue. “While some are renting suites in Abuja, APC is busy opening more offices in local communities,” Dalori said. He cited recent APC gains in off-cycle elections as proof of the party’s growing national presence.

Bukar Dalori also stated that the ruling party’s dominance is not just electoral but ideological. “We are not in power by mistake. We are here because Nigerians trust us—even in hardship. The APC has an agenda, not just a hashtag,” he added, in an apparent jab at opposition coalitions built on temporary outrage.

Opposition in Denial: “You Lost Because You Lied”

In his most blistering attack, Dalori accused opposition leaders of refusing to accept electoral realities. “They lost because they lied to the people, and now they’re in denial. A coalition of losers cannot defeat a movement of believers,” he asserted. According to Dalori, much of the opposition’s strategy is built on “hype, deception, and foreign sympathy.”

Dalori alleged that the coalition idea is merely a decoy to win international headlines. “They want to provoke a crisis and get global attention. But the Nigerian people are wiser now. The votes are on the ground—not on CNN,” he declared, adding that such desperation would backfire.

Bukar Dalori Dares Coalition Leaders to Contest Again

Challenging the credibility of coalition figures, Bukar Dalori dared them to step out of their echo chambers and contest in any ward-level election. “Let’s see if they can even win a local government chairmanship without carrying briefcases of dollars,” he mocked. He claimed their reluctance to return to the field shows a lack of confidence and relevance.

He further advised them to stop relying on what he termed “NGO-influenced pollsters and clickbait media.” According to Dalori, “Democracy is not decided on Twitter Spaces or YouTube debates—it’s won at the ballot box, and the APC is always ready.”

Warning Against Foreign Meddling and Political Tourism

Bukar Dalori concluded with a veiled warning to foreign entities allegedly involved in supporting opposition coalitions. “We will not tolerate foreign meddling in our democracy through NGOs, grants, and so-called political observers who double as lobbyists,” he said. “Some of these coalition backers are more comfortable in Brussels and Washington than in Borno or Bauchi.”

He accused certain political figures of using election seasons as an opportunity for political tourism. “They hop from think tanks to embassies but avoid the villages where votes are cast. APC was born from sweat, not sponsorship. We know who we are—and we know who’s pretending,” Dalori declared.
