RUDEBOY REVEALS WHY GOING SOLO AFTER PSQUARE WAS LESS STRESSFUL: “I WAS THE PRODUCER, WRITER AND SINGER!”

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has opened up about his transition from the legendary music duo P-Square to a solo career, explaining why the move was less stressful than many might have imagined.

According to the singer, he was already handling several major creative responsibilities during his time in the group, including producing music, writing songs and singing. Reflecting on his experience, Rudeboy said, “It was less stressful because it’s same me that did everything in the group. I was the producer, writer and singer.”

His comments have reignited conversations about the creative responsibilities behind P-Square’s success and how his experience within the duo prepared him for life as a solo artiste. Apparently, while some artistes might need time to adjust after leaving a successful group, Rudeboy believes his previous responsibilities gave him a head start.

RUDEBOY SAYS HIS EXPERIENCE MADE THE SOLO JOURNEY EASIER

P-Square, formed by twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, became one of Africa’s most successful musical acts, producing hit songs that earned them a loyal fan base across the continent and beyond.

However, following the brothers’ separation into individual careers, both artistes had to continue building their musical identities independently. For Rudeboy, the transition was reportedly less stressful because he was already familiar with the creative work involved in making music.

His explanation offers a glimpse into how he viewed his role within the group. While fans enjoyed the performances, catchy songs and music videos, Rudeboy’s comments draw attention to the songwriting and production work that happens behind the scenes.

Of course, going solo still comes with its own responsibilities, from developing an individual brand to maintaining a fan base and navigating the music business without the same group structure.

FROM GROUP SUCCESS TO SOLO AMBITIONS

Rudeboy’s statement has also revived the familiar debate among fans about P-Square’s legacy and the brothers’ individual contributions to the duo’s success.

For some listeners, P-Square’s magic came from the brothers’ combined talents and performances. Others may be interested in understanding how each artiste’s creative abilities have shaped their solo careers.

However, Rudeboy’s comments represent his own perspective on the transition and should not automatically be interpreted as a complete account of how every responsibility was divided within the group.

One thing is clear: his years with P-Square gave him experience in several aspects of music creation, and he believes that experience helped make his solo journey less stressful.

As fans continue debating the P-Square era versus the brothers’ individual careers, OGM News NG will keep bringing you the latest updates and conversations from the Nigerian entertainment industry.
