President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Inaugurates APC Unity Committee Ahead of 2027 Elections

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday in Lagos inaugurated a high-powered Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation, signaling a decisive move to address internal disputes and strengthen party unity as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections. The development marks a critical moment in the party’s internal reorganisation, with national leaders acknowledging the need for cohesion, discipline, and strategic clarity in a rapidly evolving political environment.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony, emphasised that unity remains the backbone of any successful political organisation, warning that unresolved internal conflicts could undermine electoral success. He noted that the committee’s establishment reflects the party’s resolve to proactively manage disagreements and transform them into opportunities for growth and renewed solidarity.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu further stated that the timing of the committee’s inauguration is deliberate, coming well ahead of the 2027 polls to allow ample room for reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation, and strategic planning. According to him, early intervention is essential to building trust among members and ensuring the party presents a united front to Nigerians in the next electoral cycle.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Tasks Committee with Conflict Resolution and Party Cohesion

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu charged the newly inaugurated committee with the responsibility of engaging aggrieved members at all levels, stressing that inclusiveness and dialogue must guide the party’s internal processes. He urged committee members to listen attentively to grievances, mediate fairly, and recommend sustainable solutions that will strengthen internal democracy.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu highlighted that political disagreements are inevitable in large parties but insisted that how such disputes are managed determines long-term stability. He said the committee must adopt transparent and impartial mechanisms that promote fairness, mutual respect, and adherence to the party’s constitution, thereby restoring confidence among members.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also underscored the importance of reconciliation as a strategic tool, not a sign of weakness. He explained that resolving internal conflicts early would free the party to focus on governance, policy communication, and voter engagement, all of which are crucial to maintaining public trust and electoral dominance ahead of 2027.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu explained that beyond conflict resolution, the committee’s mobilisation mandate is central to the party’s long-term electoral strategy. He said effective mobilisation requires reconnecting with the grassroots, re-energising party structures, and ensuring that members feel a sense of ownership and purpose within the organisation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu noted that the committee is expected to develop innovative strategies that align party messaging with the aspirations of Nigerians, particularly youths and first-time voters. He stressed that unity at the top must translate into coordinated action at the ward, local government, and state levels to guarantee electoral competitiveness nationwide.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu concluded by expressing confidence that the committee’s work would reposition the party for success in the 2027 general elections. He reaffirmed his belief that a united, disciplined, and mobilised party would not only perform strongly at the polls but also deepen democratic stability and responsive governance across the country.
