OSGF Suspend Sachet Alc%hol Ban: Nigerians Must Ignore NAFDAC Enforcement Till Final Decision

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) don order say make all action wey dey enforce sachet alc%hol ban stop immediately. This order follow letter wey House of Representatives Committee on Food and Drugs send about the planned restriction.

OSGF, through their Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Terrence Kuanum, talk say the letter wey dey from the Committee since November 13, 2025, dey under proper review. Dem also talk say any action wey NAFDAC or any other agency take wey no get SGF clearance, no get value.

Public dey assure say SGF dey consider everything wey concern public health, economy, legislative matters, and national interest before dem go finally decide. Nigerians go hear from government when final directive ready.

NAFDAC Action on Sachet Alc%hol No Dey Valid Till OSGF Clear Am

Any ban or enforcement on sachet alc%hol wey NAFDAC dey try do, no get legal value till SGF clear the matter. Government don tell Nigerians make dem ignore any enforcement for now.

SGF don request comments from Coordinating Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Pate, and NAFDAC DG, Mojisola Adeyeye, so that dem fit make informed decision. Matter still dey under review as government dey balance public interest.

Earlier, NAFDAC don talk say all alc%hol for sachets and small bottles below 200ml go ban by December 2025 because youths and drivers dey abuse the cheap drinks. But House of Reps don dey call make dem suspend am till review finish.

The SGF don advise Nigerians make dem dey patient as government dey review the proposed sachet alc%hol ban. Temporary suspension don start till final decision show.

According to OSGF statement, any enforcement wey NAFDAC or other agencies try do without SGF approval na waste. Government dey ensure say economic, health, and legislative issues balance well before final ban.
