Legendary Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has issued strong advice to men, urging them to marry only one wife if they desire a long, peaceful, and happy life. Speaking on the Olofix podcast, the 51-year-old artist said his own experience in marriage convinced him that true love requires focus, sacrifice, and loyalty.
Eedris Abdulkareem described his marriage as “divinely arranged”, explaining that he met his wife in September 2003, after staying away from s+xual relationships for five years. He said he believed God preserved his wife specifically for him, and that his love was not meant for any other woman.
Recalling their long journey together, Eedris pointed to a powerful moment in 2022 when his wife donated a kidney to save his life. He said this act confirmed that their marriage was a divine union. “If another woman had children for me, will she donate a kidney? God gave me my own wife, not another man’s wife,” he said.
“Polygamy Brings Conflict” — Eedris Abdulkareem Warns African Men About Family Tension
While acknowledging that both African traditions and Islam permit polygamy, Eedris Abdulkareem argued that it is impossible for a man to love multiple women equally. According to him, real love is always singular — and spreading affection leads to competition, bitterness, and broken families.
The rapper firmly stated that polygamous homes are prone to conflict, as it becomes difficult to maintain fairness, emotional balance, or harmony. He noted that the household environment becomes tense and unpredictable, especially when issues of jealousy and inheritance arise.
Eedris Abdulkareem cautioned men who admire polygamy to think beyond ego and consider the emotional and psychological impact on the family. “We are allowed to be polygamous, yes. But realistically, you can only love one woman sincerely. We must be wise,” he advised.
Eedris Declares: “For Long Life and True Happiness — Let One Woman Bear Your Children”
Giving his final advice on the podcast, Eedris Abdulkareem encouraged men to build a peaceful home with one woman, saying this is the true path to longevity, stability, and lasting joy. He said it takes wisdom—not wealth—to build a strong family, and loyalty is the foundation of a man’s legacy.
The rapper explained that peace of mind is one of the greatest treasures a man can have, and that a unified home is crucial to achieving it. He suggested that raising all children with one woman reduces rivalry, emotional strain, and confusion among siblings.
Ending his message with clarity, Eedris urged men to rethink modern-day masculinity:
“If you want a long life and a happy home, make sure one woman bears all your children. This is the real path to a sweet and peaceful life.”
