Hon. Kalat’s defection is seen as a major setback for the PDP in Kaduna, as it loses not only a senior opposition leader but also a respected figure whose presence often shaped legislative debates in favor of accountability.

Hon. Ali Kalat Welcomes Stingo and Nulge into APC

Hon. Ali Kalat was joined in the defection by Hon. Danlami Usman Stingo of Kajuru Constituency and Hon. Shehu Abubakar Nulge of Birnin Gwari Constituency. Together, they made a joint commitment to support the APC-led government in driving development across the state.

Hon. Kalat emphasized that their defection was not about personal ambition but about the collective will to work with the government in power for the good of their communities. He noted that both Stingo and Nulge have demonstrated dedication to grassroots service and will add strength to the APC’s vision for Kaduna.

Hon. Ali Kalat further added that the new alliance with the APC would give the three lawmakers access to better networks, funding opportunities, and policy leverage to fast-track developmental projects in their constituencies.

Hon. Ali Kalat Highlights Implications for Kaduna Politics

Hon. Kalat acknowledged that the decision would have significant political consequences for the state. With the APC gaining more numerical strength in the House, legislative proceedings are expected to tilt further in favor of the ruling party.

Hon. Kalat stressed that the defections also send a strong signal about the PDP’s weakening influence in Kaduna politics. He expressed concern that the party had failed to provide a unified platform capable of matching the APC’s organizational strength.

Hon. Kalat concluded by affirming that his new political alignment with the APC was driven by the future of Kaduna and not partisan rivalry. He assured constituents that their trust would be repaid with greater development and stronger representation at the state level.
