2027: Kano North APC Pledges Landslide Votes for Tinubu, Abba, Barau

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kano North Senatorial District have reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin in the 2027 general elections. The pledge, made during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Kano, signals renewed political consolidation in one of the state’s most strategic districts.

The meeting, convened by the Deputy President of the Senate, brought together party leaders, elected officials, grassroots mobilisers, and government appointees from across the 13 local government areas of Kano North. Participants described the gathering as a strategic move to strengthen party unity and solidify the district’s position as a dependable APC stronghold.

Addressing attendees, Barau Jibrin emphasised the importance of cohesion within the party, stating that unity and focus would be central to achieving electoral success in 2027. He assured stakeholders that the district’s political structure remained intact and well-positioned for mobilisation.

Strategic Mobilisation and Grassroots Empowerment

A key highlight of the meeting was the announcement of logistical support for party officials at the grassroots level. Senator Barau disclosed the donation of 26 vehicles and 141 motorcycles to political office holders across the district’s 13 local government areas.

According to him, chairmen and vice-chairmen would receive vehicles, while councillors and secretaries would be provided with motorcycles to enhance mobility and operational efficiency. He explained that effective coordination and sustained voter engagement required adequate logistical backing, particularly at the grassroots where political structures are most active.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, the Deputy Senate President underscored that empowering local leaders would strengthen the party’s base and improve outreach efforts ahead of the elections. He urged party members to set aside differences and work collectively toward a shared objective.

Expressions of Loyalty and Collective Endorsement

Several prominent figures at the meeting echoed the commitment to securing victories for the APC in 2027. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, representing Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency, pledged unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, assuring the Deputy Senate President of Kano North’s loyalty.

Speaking on behalf of the 13 local government chairmen, Jamilu Danbatta, Chairman of Danbatta Local Government Area, described Senator Barau as a transformative leader whose interventions had positively impacted the region. He reaffirmed their readiness to mobilise voters in support of the party’s candidates.

The Deputy Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu, also praised the senator’s performance, stating that Kano North had witnessed significant development under his representation. He pledged continued cooperation among stakeholders to ensure electoral success.

Implications for Kano’s Political Landscape

The endorsement is widely viewed as a strategic consolidation of political influence within Kano North, particularly in the context of recent alignments within the state’s political structure. Analysts suggest that such early declarations may strengthen internal unity while positioning the district as a decisive bloc in Kano State’s broader electoral equation.

Observers note that Kano remains one of Nigeria’s most politically significant states due to its population size and voting strength. A coordinated mobilisation effort in Kano North could therefore have far-reaching implications for party performance at both state and national levels.

The meeting concluded with a collective pledge by commissioners, national and state lawmakers, local government officials, and party stakeholders to work toward the re-election of President Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Senator Barau Jibrin in 2027.
