2027: ADC Will Send Tinubu Back to Bourdillon — Kenneth Okonkwo

Nollywood veteran and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is poised to win the 2027 presidential election, with a strong chance of unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme on Monday, the lawyer and ADC chieftain said the party is working to build a credible platform that will resonate with Nigerians in the next general elections. According to him, 2027 will provide the true test of the ADC’s strength as a national opposition party.

“In 2027, we are going to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu back to Bourdillon,” Okonkwo stated, referencing the Lagos residence of the president. He stressed that unlike previous contests, the coming elections would reflect the will of the people and showcase the relevance of the African Democratic Congress’s structure.

ADC’s Nationwide Structure and Political Stakeholders

Okonkwo further highlighted the spread of the ADC across the country, noting that the party is firmly established in all 36 states of the federation. He emphasized that this presence gives the ADC a stronger platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other opposition parties.

Making reference to Rivers State, the former presidential campaign spokesperson explained that prominent figures such as former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, play important roles in strengthening the African Democratic Congress. He described Amaechi as a key leader of the party in the South-South region and the state.

“The ADC exists in the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Rotimi Amaechi naturally is one of the prominent leaders ofAfrican Democratic Congress in Rivers State and in the South-South. So, it will not be out of place if you say that he is the leader of the ADC in Rivers State,” Okonkwo remarked.

The Road Ahead for the African Democratic Congress

The politician stressed that the party’s focus ahead of 2027 will be to consolidate its structures, deepen engagement with Nigerians, and present credible candidates capable of earning the people’s trust. He insisted that the African Democratic Congress’s ambition was not just to participate but to secure victory at the polls.

Okonkwo also underscored the importance of inclusivity in the party’s primaries, assuring that the ADC would avoid internal flaws that weaken opposition platforms. By offering an alternative to existing political systems, he argued, the African Democratic Congress could chart a new direction for Nigeria’s governance.
